You may find it helpful to have a grid underlay in the work area. The Display Grid command is found on the View menu. When the Display Grid is turned on, a checkmark appears by the menu command name. The grid is 1’ when working in inches (Imperial Units) and .3m when working in metric units.
Note: Turning the grid display on has no effect
on printouts. The print preview
has a separate command for the inclusion / exclusion of a grid
in the printout.
Note: The Display Grid command does not effect the placement of any objects. However, the Snap to Grid command will cause icons to snap to grid intersections.
